Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Leticia's passion for painting began when she was only 11 years old. Studies included lessons at The Liga de Arte de San Juan throughout primary school, Seton Hill University (Pennsylvania) and the Alliance Franchaise in Paris France. She completed advanced work at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

Don Luis A. Ferre (founder, Museo de Arte de Ponce) had a heavy influence on the artist during her working experience at the Museuo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico. Today, she continues to be inspired by her mentor, Laura Fernandez, along with her caribbean roots and love for music.
